Golden Triangle - October, 2007

I had been planning an October Moab and Fruita mountain bike trip for months which unfortunately fell through at the last minute. I was determined to still try something new on my bike, although it had to be close by and only a few days. I had the idea to try the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle refers to the 300+ km highway route which crosses the Contenental Divide twice and connects Castle Mountain, Radium Hot Springs and Golden. After a quick email to a couple friends, one was able to do it with me at the last minute. Two things were decided the day prior: do it clockwise, and do it cheap.

The weather for the entire trip looked cold and miserable, and it certainly lived up to those expectations. Here are some pics, elevation details, and info on hostels for anybody interested...
